Additional Comments
Entry to the building is from the promenade, which is down a sloped pathway approx. 50 metres long from the car park. There is an optical illusion when you look down the slope as there are bollards at the bottom and it looks like there may not be sufficient space to get through. This is not the case as they are on a slant and there is over 1 metre gap.
Care is needed on this slope as it will often be covered in sand blown up from the beach.
I couldn’t get one of the 3 disabled parking bays on my visit, but there are plenty of unmarked parking spaces adjacent to barriers, so you can allow yourself plenty of space, safe in the knowledge no one is going to park too close.
Within the building the museum was fully accessible for me, apart from a flight of stairs to enable access to see inside the lifeboat. There are plans to install a lift to get up to this platform in the future.
