Accessible Treasure Trail, Quayside, Newcastle

YOUR MISSION

Our top agent Jim Pond discovered that evil Dr Mak Hehm plans to ruin the top attraction along the Quayside. The mad boffin has placed a super glue capsule inside the Millennium Bridge mechanism and will activate it mid tilt. Pond discovered the code to deactivate the device and left a series of clues to it before he was fatally shaken and stirred. Are you ready for this mission?

NEWCASTLE QUAYSIDE

This Trail explores Newcastle Quayside.

While suitable for anyone, it has been designed by a wheelchair user to be accessible for anyone using a manual or electric wheelchair or a mobility scooter. There are no significant slopes on the entire route and all road crossings have dropped kerbs. The route is approximately one mile in length. It should take about one and a half hours to complete.

Car parking is available at either side of the Quayside pub (free for blue Badge Holders) and in streets off the Quayside. The Trail has specifically been designed to be suitable for anyone who is a self-propelled wheelchair user.

A fun way to spend a couple of hours or so pushing along Newcastle Quayside solving clues on the way. There are plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes with wheelchair accessible facilities on the trail to stop for something to eat or drink.

Accessible public toilets at either end of the Quayside with (20p or free entry with RADAR key).

Starting and finishing point is also within 20 metres of bus stops on the Quaylink bus service, which is wheelchair accessible and connects to various points in Newcastle and Gateshead including Haymarket Bus Station, Newcastle Central Station and Gateshead Interchange.
