Additional Comments
Very helpful staff who helped me cope with some difficulties this pub presented me with. This meant we had an enjoyable time and will go again, as the food was excellent.
There is a spacious tarmac car park, although no bays are marked for any cars. The “disabled access” entrance is marked, but only at that side entrance. It would be useful to show there is such an access from the front of the building, where there are steps at the main entrance and you could drive past, as we nearly did.
Doors are just wide enough for me to get in to restaurant area (not bar which is up 2 steps). Tables are of varying heights, so make sure you let them know you want one of the higher ones when booking, which you may need to do on Friday and Saturday evenings when they are busier.
The “disabled toilet” wasn’t accessible for me in my wheelchair. It is relatively small with an inward opening door. However, it does have grab rails and had I taken my walking sticks, I could have used it by getting out of my chair in the corridor and walking in.
The landlords are keen to make improvements as they are very conscious of the needs of people who are disabled at times due to the impact of their medical condition.
