Additional Comments
Service, Signage and Shower are 3 words that sum up our stay here. Overall, we had an excellent stay in this hotel, where the service from all staff was exceptional.
However, our arrival started poorly due to lack of signage. Although the main car park for the hotel is on the opposite side of the road in this high quality residential area of North Berwick, there turned out to be 2 disabled parking bays immediately outside the hotel main entrance, which we found by chance. It would have been useful seeing a sign on the approach road indicating this was where the disabled parking bays were located.
Unfortunately, there were steps up to the main entrance. Again a lack of signage as to where the accessible entrance was located meant my wife had to go in to ask. A member of staff came out with her promptly and showed us where to go to access the hotel. It was necessary to go down the road about 20 yards where there was ramped access adjacent to the leisure spa entrance.
Down the ramp, there was a door inside which was a small yet adequate platform lift which took me to the hotel main level. It was then straightforward to get to reception on that floor, which was also where our spacious room and the lounge/bar and restaurant were located.
Our bedroom was spacious and the bed accessible for me from the right hand side. The en-suite bathroom was large and featured a bath with shower over. Unfortunately, sitting in the bath, which I did because there was no bath board available, I could not reach the shower controls, so my wife had to turn the shower on and off.
We had an nice meal in the spacious restaurant on the evening of our stay.
Apart from these few issues which I am sure the hotel can address, we enjoyed our visit very much.
