Barberstown Castle was originally built in the 13th century and today is one of the oldest castles in Ireland still in operation. It is the only property of its kind which can boast such close proximity to Dublin City Centre and Dublin Airport (both 30 minutes away), whilst simultaneously providing guests with the country house luxury offering of a ‘Blue Book’ property.
The hotel boasts 59 en-suite bedrooms, a number of which have four-poster beds. Each is designed in a country house style with Irish and continental antique period furniture, including wardrobes and vanity writing desk, which have been collected by the proprietors over the years from the Straffan Antique and Design Centre. The rooms are dressed with prints of 18th/19th century landscaped and Victorian scenes.
With solid wood floors throughout the dinning rooms, it makes it that much easier for wheel chairs to move around the room. All bedrooms are large with lots of space to move around with some rooms even modified to create better accesss.
With ramps around the property and staff on hand to help the castle is open to everyone!
