Cringletie House

Cringletie House is a splendid Victorian baronial mansion, located just south of Edinburgh, and stands proud as the only AA Top 200 Hotel in the Scottish Border region. The hotel has 13 individually designed rooms, each one with its own unique character and furnished to a high standard with views over the grounds and local countryside.

Cringletie House has been made completely accessible for anybody who is confined to a wheelchair.

The design brief was to give the disabled person full access to all facilities, and enable him/her to be fully independent.

The new special car park and ramp allow the user of the wheelchair full access to the house. The chairlift is located at the entrance to the ground floor of the house.

Cringletie House also has a disabled accessible bedroom on the ground floor. The Traquair Deluxe Twin Room overlooks the gardens and fields to the West of the property. The room is entered via automatic doors and offers motorised easy chairs and beds and special emergency facilities for guests with impaired hearing.  There is a wooden floor to allow for easy wheelchair movements.

The bathroom has a corner bath and separate shower accessible for wheelchairs, there is also a spacious toilet area to accommodate a wheelchair.  A beautiful room, also for able-bodied guests!  Luxurious Molton Brown bathroom toiletries are available to make this extra special.

Cringletie has been awarded the highest disability award given out by the Scottish Tourist Board, VisitScotland.
